Below is the link where the new forms are posted on the USCIS website. Also note that beside each form under "Edition" colum it says: "Previous editions accepted." for I-485, I-765, I-131. So you can use either the new forms or the olf forms. But if you are applying based on Department of State’s July Visa Bulletin No. 107 you can file your application till August 17th 2007 and have to pay the old fee.
In fact USCIS posted on 7/30/2007 for I-765 previos versions will not be accepted. but they have updated the website on 7/31/2007 that previos versions will be accepted for I-765.
So do not worry about which version of the form you are using. Make sure you are including the correct fee.
BTW, i have the old forms if anyone really needs them.

Guys -- I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ? has anyone being in this situation ?
Since you are a permanent resident (green card holder) now, H1-B petition must be denied. But, it should not matter.

I have used my labor for H1 extensions twice since running out of 6 year term, and have I140 pending with another extension coming up soon. I will not be able to use PP to get a 3 year tranche. If 140 gets thrown out then it's Sayonara.

Chill out...Everybody is unnecessarily getting worked up just because our frustrations are not reflected in the article.
It doesn't say "that people are waiting for GC because of strict rules". That is totally taken out of context. Re-read the article.
Keep in mind where the article has appeared - BBC. Keep in mind the audience of the article - people who don't know anything about this issue. From that perspective it does a decent job of providing someone with some idea as to what the H1B/GC issues are about. It is in no way meant to be (or attempts to do) a thorough in depth report on what is going on. Think of it as just a "big picture" overview of the PATHETIC state of US immigration system as it applies to H1Bs and GCs.
On the point of painting "H1B issue as Indian issue" - Although the article doesn't claim to do that, don't you think that when 65% of H1Bs are taken up by Indian nationals (at least in 2000, probably more later, http://www.murthy.com/news/UDtechi.html) , it is at least a "65% Indian issue."
In any case, my intent was not to be rude but just to point out that there is no need to get so riled up on an article that neither hurts or helps our cause.
Take it easy.
The reporter does not seem to know the issue at all and coming from an Indian/Pakistani background painted the whole issue as if it were a Desi issue.
Dude writes that visas dry up and he quotes USCIS spokes person saying we are sitting at 45,000 from week 1 and haven't still moved an inch. Damn it! Gimme a break! Get real
The attorney featured sings to his tune and talks about all things Indian, Indian companies, Indian nationals, India. Wow! Does any one need more ammunition to take charge and paint H1B issue as Indian issue? Sorry to be harsh but this is more of a bad press than any thing helpful.
Then he goes on to say that people are waiting for GC because of strict rules?? Excuse me! until Jul 2007 rules were not implemented. This guy says strict rules.
It does not make sense to me how folks who are on L1 visa and manage some people can go at par with the people of Extraordinary ability .
I can understand if they holding a position where they make some policies/ generate bussiness that gonna have major impact on Employees or organizational direction ...
But I have seen some people who not at par qualified has applied for GC on EB1 category just because they are on L1 Visa it is getting expired....
But i feel that there is a big glitch in the definition of this category which many of the DESI Companies are abusing ....:( you do not need to be on L1A to apply for EB-1 managerial as long as you meet the requirements of being a manager as per USCIS definition. also eb-1 managerial is not a self-file - it needs to be filed by employer.

USCIS does not give any document stating the fact that AOS is pending. Although EAD is not required to be present in USA, if H4 is not there, only EAD is proof of valid stay.
So if SSN is not there or DL (or state ID) is expired then you need EAD - EAD renewal is up to you.
How did u manage to get so many red dots....at least you are on top of something!!!!:D:D

I thought about it again and think everyone has the right to post on forum as much as you. If IV does not like it, they will delete it. If you do not like a thread do not read it. Who is forcing you to read a thread? If you want to read something specific to your interest, there is a nice website I found recently. It is called 'Google'. All you have to do is type a keyword and Google will give you back thousands of websites of your interest for free. Isn't this amazing?
I am presently on H1-B and filed I-140 and I-485 under Exceptional Ability & National Interest Waiver category, I got EAD (I-765) approval also;, can I do any part time job by using EAD as well as maintaining my H1-B status? Yes you can, as long as you continue to work for the employer that has sponsored you for the Green Card.
I want to solid answer if possible no gray area type answers. I am done with gray areas. After 6 years of wait last thing I want is gray area :) that is reason why I posted.

I just called Sen. Cornyn's office. A person actually picks up. He will ask you for your zipcode.
I told him that I'm in support of his SKIL Bill. And he says that he will pass it on to the Senator.
It is this simple. I hope all our members can also just quickly give him a call. It only takes a minute!:)

Thanks for your response, really appreciate it.
I read through the memo and found guidance on changing companies while I140 is pending but did not find anything on transferring H1b while Perm is pending.
I am sure you are referring to the first part of the memo which mentions validity and expiration of LC and Perm should be filed 365 days before the end of 6 years of H1b.
Hypothetical (and probable) scenario:
She joins the company in the next three months and applies for Perm before Sep 2010. By Sep 2011, her Perm might have been denied or approved and expired or (small chance of it being approved and not expired) . In first two cases, she cannot use her current Perm and has to rely on new Perm application with new company to extend H1B. Could this petition for extension be rejected because the new Perm was not filed 365 days before end of 6 years? I am looking at worst case scenario and the basis for USCIS to reject the extension.
Sorry for asking too many questions. Hope you enjoyed 28.5 inches of snow :) we live in the suburbs.
A new PERM filed before September 2010 will [I]probably[I] support an H1 extension beyond September 2011. There is contrary language in a May 30, 2008 USCIS memo on this issue, but the Vermont Service Center in liaison meetings with AILA has specifically confirmed that as long as the Perm is filed at least 365 days before the start date of the H-1 petition a one year extension is available.
